This appellation is issued by the Committee on Premiers Grands Crus.

 

The selection of these Premiers Grands Crus is based on soil and climate criteria and viticultural practices (minimum 6000 stems/ha, manual harvesting).

The grape varieties allowed are Chasselas, Pinot Noir and Gamay. The yield must not exceed 0.8 l/m2 for Chasselas and 0.64 l/m2 for Pinot and Gamay. Blending of wines of the same or different origins is prohibited.

The minimum sugar contents are:

  • Chasselas: 75° Oe
  • Gamay:  80° Oe
  • Pinot Noir : 85° Oe

The vinification and bottling must be done in the canton of Vaud.
The mention of vintage is obligatory.
